What is this leaderboard?

A public record of the local communities teaching Bitcoin in the My First Bitcoin Education Network, and of the work each of them has actually done.

Why it exists

My First Bitcoin's strategy is empowering those that empower others. The people doing that work are independent educators running their own communities, and until now there was no shared way to see what they had built. This makes it visible, so support (perks, mentorship, funding, donations) can reach the communities earning it rather than the ones that happen to be best known.

What a score is

Points for verifiable milestones and ongoing work: signing the Community Charter, publishing a bio and a budget, running cohorts, graduating students, certifying educators, onboarding merchants, hosting unconferences. Every rule and its point value is published on the Transparency page, and each entry traces back to a record in the network's own systems.

What it is not

Not a ranking of teaching quality, and not a headline count of students taught. A higher score means more recorded activity in the period you have selected, nothing more. Communities also join at different times, so a new community starting low is expected.

How to read it
  • On the leaderboard, the period chips above the table change the window every score is counted over, and clicking a row opens the full breakdown of where that community's points came from.
  • Find your community narrows the network to what you care about.
  • Unlock Perks shows what communities gain as they climb.

Join Education Network

    Introduce your community & sign the Charter

    Open the Charter ↗, agree to its principles, and email the signed copy to arnold@myfirstbitcoin.org, alongside the following information:

    • A short intro to your community (mission, when it started, roughly how many people)
    • Focus areas or programs you run (Intro to Bitcoin, Diploma, Educator Training, meetups, merchants…)
    • Names + roles of team members / co-founders
    • Any relevant links — website, socials, past events, media coverage
